Pool Table Phoenix and How to Buy The Right One

There are many things you have to consider before you buy a pool table in Phoenix. You have to consider all these elements before you make that final decision:

Budget With the way the economy is going it is vitally important to consider your options when it comes to your budget. You have to decide how much money you need to buy the right table rather than the amount you have today which may mean you end up with a short term option. You don’t want to have to replace your table in a short time period. Pool tables range in price based on some key elements.

Size Pool tables come in a number of different sizes generally 7’, 8’ or 9’ and you may have the money to purchase one of them. However, you have to consider your room and the amount of space available. You should take into account the size of the table and the required playing space around the outside of the table. If it’s not worth getting the 8’ pool table in a space if it means your pool cue is wedged up against a window, wall or fireplace. You can’t make shots in a tight space!

Branded/Non Branded There are different types of branding to consider for your Phoenix pool table. There is the manufacturer’s brand, such as Olhausen and then there is the design brand, such as Harley Davidson. The two elements together often determine the final price of the pool table. You can expect to pay anywhere in the region of $2500 and upwards for the Olhausen 7ft pool table! If you want the Harley Davidson Olhausen table then you could increase that price to approximately $3,000 and upwards! However, you can be sure your friends would love playing on that table.

Slate/Non-Slate If you ask most purists they would tell you it’s not a question. It has to be slate. Underneath the billiard felt is the play surface. Traditionally this has always been slate and it is generally preferred. Slate gives an accuslate which is a high density fibre board but the quality is excellent. You get a 7 year warranty on it. If you have the choice for billiards in phoenix go for slate, it is the best option. However, slate can be expensive and very heavy! If you are thinking about moving your table then slate is not a good option. Slate usually comes in three pieces and each piece can weigh a couple hundred pounds! You can get a one piece option where you have no seams.

Felt/Accessories Not all tables come with felt. You may need to buy it separately. There are many different colors, designs and qualities to enhance the look of your table. When you decide on the felt make sure you have a brush, cues, wall mounted rack or cue claw. Then you will want pool balls, ball racks, cue chalk, bridge cues and cue cases.

Online/Retail If you buy a table online chances are you won’t pay sales tax like you would from a retail store. There is an advantage with dealing with someone face to face in a store. You can try to negotiate the best price. However, the best e-retailers have free phone and customer service. The other advantage to online stores like www.bestinshowbilliards.com is that their overheads are lower and so the cost to you should be less.

Shipping It could be built in to the price or a flat rate. Just make sure you compare and get the best deal.

Installation Pool tables are not usually delivered assembled. Some even require qualified installers. It could be a further cost on top of the price. Be sure to ask the store. If you buy online then access someone who can set up the pool table for you.
